'Elastic' panel construction (see zig zag pattern across kite) gives

Dacron Rip Stop on struts and Leading edge - strong, durable.
Polyester Rip Stop Canopy - light weight, water and sand shedding.
Taped seams.
Taped and reinforced strut attachments and leading edge.
Comes in back pack with a bladder repair kit.
