I think in flat water the Door gets going significantly earlier -- maybe a couple of knots, but certainly enough to notice. In rough water the difference is less pronounced, since big chop makes the Door less effective but the King slices right through it.
You didn't ask, but for me the tradeoff is well worth it. The King carves great, rides toeside great, is easy on the back leg muscles and knees, and really does not hit a top end due to size and width like the door did. It is just way more fun and more versatile than my Door was. But it does not have as good a low end IMHO.
The Door definitely got going earlier - probably a couple knots earlier in flat water

исходя из текста выше, человек, который катает и на мако и на двери, утверждает что на двери можно катать намного раньше чем на мако, зато дверь раньше передозит.
